i need help with my subwoofer setup?

i have 2 TS-w1207d2 Premier Champion series subwoofers, they are powered by a SL2-1500 Power Acoustics amp. i have them in a 1.25 cu. ft. sealed box (angled back). they are suprisingly clear sounding, and they hit ok. but, i'm not getting the full potential out of these subs. i have them ran in a 4ohm configuration,
should i run them in 2ohm? shouls i mabey go ported box?
i've always been a fan of sealed, but i know to fit the box to the speakers, help any one please! also, wouls it be a good idea, to run 2 of these amps, one to each subwoofer? i'm worried about over powering, and blowing them.
i wired them at 4ohm, because the paper work with the subs said they could be run at 2 or 4 ohm, i'm going to rewire them to 2ohm. my amp it 300 watts rms @ 4ohm, or 360 @ 2ohm stable. the amp isn't bridged.

How do you have them wired right now? You cannot get a 4 ohm load by wiring two 2 ohm DVC subs. Your subs should be wired like the way below...

This will get your subs 300w rms each. Another one of those amps will not work well with your subs.

A ported enclosure would get you more output but at a cost of lower SQ. You will lose a little bit of that clearity.

Edit: You would only be able to wire it to a 2 ohm load if you either 1) had two subs or 2) One sub with only 1 voice coil wired

You should know that (2) is not a proper wiring method. I would be very surprised to see any company, especially Pioneer, give recommendations on using 1 voice coil of a DVC sub. The wiring method may have been for the 4 ohm sub or the SVC sub of the similar model.

The link I posted will tell you the best way to wire your subs. You cannot wire your subs up to a 2 ohm load for each channel with those subs.
