@92naza Okay my best guess is that you’re losing power as the Bass Hits so that’s why your Green Power light on your amp is dimming and your bass sounds lower. You might just need another Power Supply to power up your 4 Channel Amp as the single 550 watt is just not enough. That would be my best guess.

why after i wire my power supply to power amplifier….when i test play the music…the bass from my woofer heard blow and i see the green light at the amplifier are not bright if the bass are playing…..my power supply is 550w and my amp is 4ch 1200w….help me PLEASE…

@amh1317 Haha Ohh not good!! Yeah could be a a problem! Try a new one and let me know!

amh1317 January 27, 2012 at 1:41 pm

Lol! Did exactly as you said and connected the Green Wire and Black Wire. Turned it on, worked fine for a few seconds then literally started smoking! Could have been a defect in the PSU so im going to try a new one.

TypicalB18 January 27, 2012 at 1:53 pm

@AustralianShuffla No Problem!! Very Glad that it worked! Your Welcome AustralianShuffla!

AustralianShuffla January 27, 2012 at 2:41 pm

Thank you for this guide! Very easy to understand and very simple and easy! had my sub going in 10 mins :) . Thanks TypicalB18

@Cloaker1308 Well with that much power requirement you’ll be needing more than one PSU to power up your amps and your subwoofers. I can’t tell you exactly how many will be enough to power it up assuming your Amp is at 12k Max but like I said all I can say is you’ll need a couple of them.

Cloaker1308 January 27, 2012 at 3:01 pm

hey i’m hooking up 3 subs wit 12,000 watts of power. will this still power it?

TypicalB18 January 27, 2012 at 3:36 pm

@nervousmagic19 Haha Yup!

nervousmagic19 January 27, 2012 at 3:46 pm

@TypicalB18 yeah true that lol

TypicalB18 January 27, 2012 at 4:32 pm

@nervousmagic19 Haha Whatever gets the job done man!!

nervousmagic19 January 27, 2012 at 5:03 pm

@TypicalB18 yeah well mine is not the best neither just 2 12inch kickers 212 watts and the amp is like 950 watts not so good either but does the job lol all of them are brand kickers bought them at bestbuy they ha!

TypicalB18 January 27, 2012 at 5:13 pm

@nervousmagic19 Haha Yeah it’s not bad, not the loudest but not the quietest. Pretty satisfied with it, but going to eventually get some higher end stuff soon!

nervousmagic19 January 27, 2012 at 5:47 pm

@TypicalB18 ohhh that Has To Give A Very Nice Sound Then Awesome!

TypicalB18 January 27, 2012 at 6:13 pm

@nervousmagic19 The Subwoofer is 250 Watts RMS and 500 Max, the Amplifier is 1100 Watts Max and I absolutely have no idea on the RMS, but testing everything out it seems to be strong enough when bridged to make the subwoofer really pound. So I’m guessing at least 200 Watts RMS but no exact guess on it!

nervousmagic19 January 27, 2012 at 7:00 pm

@TypicalB18 No Problem So How Many Watts The Amp And Sub?

TypicalB18 January 27, 2012 at 7:13 pm

@nervousmagic19 Thanks!! Glad it helped!!!

nervousmagic19 January 27, 2012 at 8:04 pm

@dimmunize Ahh I see, I can’t believe I totally forgot about Capacitors, but yeah good note! Mine has died on me yet so no need for it, but maybe in the future!

dimmunize January 27, 2012 at 9:40 pm

for those having problems with the power supply cutting off, try using a Capacitor. be sure you charge it before running your setup. the use of the Capacitor is to hold a charge and send clean 12v current. when loud bass notes hit, your power supply drops in volts and the psu goes into fault because it can’t handle it. -hence the reason to use one so your headlights don’t dim.

TypicalB18 January 27, 2012 at 9:45 pm

@xplod414 Ohh I see. Haha!

xplod414 January 27, 2012 at 10:20 pm

@TypicalB18 haha, I do not use the battery longer, you know there are two cables that are yellow and black, they are much more powerful they make the 18 ah but the other usual completely yellow makes out 15 ah, the 18-ah works much better: P

TypicalB18 January 27, 2012 at 10:32 pm

@blueelmo24 Yeah I was thinking about it, but as for now it seems to be running just fine so no need too yet, Wires stay pretty cool so no prob there and I use this system occasionally too so nothing ever gets warm, but if they do I’ll consider it.

blueelmo24 January 27, 2012 at 11:09 pm

You should use all the yellows for the amp

TypicalB18 January 27, 2012 at 11:49 pm

@Huskyman113 Could be the Amp is using too much power. What is the Maximum Wattage for you Power Supply, and your Amplifier (Either RMS or Max/Peak)?
