Nissan Infiniti Speaker
Car speaker questions ?

First of all, I don't know very much about sound systems for cars. Im trying to learn more, but I just started being interested in them. I have a 2000 Nissan Xterra. The speakers in the rear are Panasonic 6x9", and they are complete crap. My brother has an infiniti i30 that has 6-3/4 Bose speakers in the rear. His car doesn't really run anymore so he said I could have it. Could I replace my 6x9s with his 6-3/4s?

Also, I'm looking into replacing the whole system if I cannot put his speakers into mine. The sizes are as follows: rear: 6x9; front: 6-1/2; Rear panel: 6x9; front side door: 6-1/2. Im also looking into subs, which would require an amp. Without adding the cost of the stereo, would I be able to replace the whole system for under $500?

Ditch the 6by9,s replace your front and rear door 6.5" speakers with components. you can find cheap ones on ebay, cheap subs and amps to. For around $500 your not gonna get top end but its a start. Its all you need for a decent sound, and you can always upgrade later on when youve more
money. A half decent stereo should power your speakers nicely.Hope this helps.
